Sesoko Island

We finally had a nice weekend so we took a drive up North on Saturday to Sesoko Island. It is one of the few islands that you can get to via a bridge. Here are some neat photos of a cool little beach we found. We saw starfish, sea cucumbers, bottles buried in the water and ladies fishing for something in a unique way.

Odd Little Things

So, the other day I was in one of my favorite stores...100 Yen (our version of a dollar store... the Nordstrom version ;0) ... and I came upon these odd little things. The picture on the front caught my eye and I couldn't help but share them with you for a little laugh. My question is... how do you drive and use one of these?????? They are potty-on-the-run bags... simply hold close to your skin and pee... when done roll it up and dispose of it... how do you get your pants down and do the rest???? I literally laughed out loud in the store!

Going to Okinawa World...

The weather was nice yesterday which we hadn't had in awhile so we decided to go for a drive to the southern part of the island and do some exploring. We happened upon Gyokusendo Cave Park the 2nd longest cave in all of Japan (5km). The park also had a neat tropical fruit exhibit which we got to sample some tasty ice cream and samples. The Kingdom Village area of the park was a replica of a traditional Okinawan Ryuku village with workshops introducing the various traditional Okinawan crafts, such as weaving, dyeing, paper making, pottery, sugar cone processing, the making of music instruments, brewing and the more recently introduced glass blowing.

It's a New Year!!!!

Well Ang's Mom and friend Carol left a couple of days ago after an adventure filled 20 days. It was a bit chilly but the two ladies had a blast. One of the places we took them to was a Christmas light show at a botanical garden. The food was great and so were the fireworks.
